Advertising 101

So advertising 101 it is...my subject specifically the outdoor type.
1. Outdoor advertising boards: These reach more people for a dollar than any other media, but are limited to a picture and no more than eight words. So if you are only targeting a market segment like head of the household or those who can make the decisions, this is not for you.
2. The people are now smarter and brighter when it comes to ads. They may look but they may not touch. According to the study conducted by Wharton, the ad that turns the companies into big ones are those whose advertisements hinge on the message of the ad.
Questions are :
a. Is the message predictable?
b. Is it believable?
c. Is it relevant to the need of the viewers?
3. Study the competitors' ad strategies but have your own unique concept.
What may work for them may not necessarily work for you especially if you are ranked way below the market position.
4. The message is not the only consideration for billboard. The placement as to height, (eye level or windshield levels for those driving).
